The work of inclusive leadership is never finished — but it deserves to be seen. You've moved swiftly, persistently, and strategically: shifting culture, opening doors, and creating impact that lasts. The ILIA Awards exist to recognize leaders and teams who don't just talk about inclusion — they prove it. It's time to be recognized.

THE AWARDS.
CATEGORIES
The Visionary Voice Award
The Visionary Voice Award honors a leader whose advocacy and vision don't just inspire — they move people to act. Their influence is visible: in the programs launched, partnerships formed, and ideas adopted because of their voice. They champion diverse perspectives, create belonging, and lead by example — making inclusion feel possible, urgent, and real.

Nominations should include documented evidence of impact — such as programs or partnerships that resulted from the nominee's advocacy, measurable audience growth, repeat speaking invitations, or adoption of their ideas by others.
The Inclusive Leadership Business Impact Award
This award recognizes leaders and teams whose inclusion efforts have produced real, measurable results — in financial performance, organizational change, or community outcomes. Winners don't just commit to inclusion; they prove it works.

Nominations must include specific before-and-after metrics tied to the initiative. For business nominations, this may include revenue impact, cost savings, efficiency gains, or productivity improvements — supported by a CFO or COO endorsement. For organizational or community nominations, please describe the outcomes achieved, how they were measured, and any independent validation such as documented KPIs, participation data, or third-party reporting.
Community Leader of the Year
This award recognizes an individual whose commitment to inclusive leadership has produced real, measurable impact at the community level. Through programs, partnerships, or sustained advocacy, this leader has created outcomes that can be documented, tracked, and validated.

Nominations should include specific evidence of impact — such as programs launched and their reach, partnerships or coalitions built, growth in community participation, or independently validated outcomes tied to the nominee's leadership.
Community Team Award
Next Generation Inclusive Leader Award
This award honors community teams who have worked together to create meaningful, documented change — whether by shifting systems, starting critical conversations, connecting people across differences, or expanding access and opportunity. Their work is visible in the outcomes: partnerships formed, barriers removed, participation grown, and communities strengthened.

Nominations should include specific, documented outcomes — such as increases in community participation, new partnerships or coalitions formed, barriers or inequities reduced, or measurable improvements in services or access.
This award recognizes any enrolled student — in high school or college — who is already putting inclusive leadership into practice. Whether through organizing, advocacy, or building more welcoming spaces in their school or community, this student leads by doing — and their efforts have made a documented difference.

Nominations should include specific examples of actions taken and their outcomes — such as initiatives organized, groups or coalitions formed, policies influenced, or measurable improvements in participation, belonging, or access within their school or community.

A message from the Founder
In 2020, as a global pandemic and social unrest highlighted the critical need for inclusive leadership, a vision emerged: to recognize and celebrate those building a more inclusive world. This vision, cultivated in collaboration with my colleague Joe Santana, laid the initial groundwork for the Inclusive Leadership Impact Awards.
After a brief pause, the idea resurfaced with powerful conviction in 2023, leading to the launch of our inaugural Inclusive Leadership Impact Awards.
Today, these awards serve as proof of the extraordinary individuals who have profoundly impacted their workplaces, communities, and nonprofit organizations through their unwavering commitment to inclusive leadership and transformative change.
Come with us on this journey as we continue to uplift and empower inclusive leaders, building a more equitable future for everyone.
